Hi, very new to this forum stuff. But need some advice. Vaio VGN-A295HP keeps putting up a warning about 'virtual memory being too low' and it is running slow. Can anyone tell me why this should appear.
welcome to CV (club vaio)
try increasing the PF size.
What is PF?:smileyconfused:
Hi All,
I'm also new to this forum so I'm a little unsure if this thread is the correct way to answer questions.
To answer your question, the PF is the Page File and can be increased by using the advanced menu on the My Computer, Properties. Normal page file is calculated at 1.5 times your physical memory. Personally I would start by defragging the hard drive the PF is on (normally the C drive ) to see if this increased the speed of the computer then I would check the virtual memory.
Cheers.

Ahh, pagefile! Mine is a bit more than 2.5x of RAM. I need it not often, but always if I have only the standard size.:smileyblush: No desire to upgrate my old VAIO. A new one is more important, LOL.
Del,
Don't worry, you did a grand job
Thanks Kee-Lo. Glad I could help someone.

Welcome to the forum
Yes, PF size is believed to be the problem. Have adjusted by comparing two A295HP machines bought at the same time. This one is fine but collegues was failing. Will see if it has worked over the next few days. Many thanks
good luck
