VAIO VGN Cr21Z/R problems with FN keys

hi,

i have downgraded my cr21z/r from vista to xp and installed the drivers that were provided by sony.
however, the FN keys e.g. changing brightness, changing screen do not work anymore.
Any suggestions on how to fix that problem?

another thing is, that on vista when i plugged out my power adapter the brightness of the screen reduced automatically, however on Windows XP now it stays the same no matter the laptop is connected to main supplies or is operating with the battery, therefore the battery drains quicker, and suggestions on that?

Hi sanv,

Although Sony have made the XP Downgrade Drivers available for the CR21-Series, they do not appear to be going to release any XP Utilities.

It is the Preinstalled Utilities that control Power Management, Bluetooth, Camera Utility and FN Key assignment. You can try reinstalling the Vista Utilities but I am doubtful that they will work properly.

Someone else may be able to help you but I think it is going to be a matter of trial and error to find some XP Utilities that work - it may be worth looking at the XP Utilities for the FE31-Series.

Does Sony intend to release Utilities for Win XP? It would really be great and useful.
