processor upgrade in a pcv rx202

does anybody know if i can upgrade my 1.8 ghz p4 processor to like a 2.4ghz processor in the sony pcv rx202 ? i been trying to find it on the sony site but i cant seem to find any info on how far the mainboard goes (processor wise)

i hope someone can give me some info about this.

As long as your CPU is the same socket size and the motherboard can handle upto 2.4Ghz then you should be fine.

Hi, thanks for ur quick response, but this i kinda knew already, what i kinda wanted to know is if the rx202 mainboard supports the 2.4 gig processor, i know its a 400 mhz fsb but i cant find the max speed i can put in the mainboard. Hope someone can help me with this question too

Hopefuly the original poster will give you a few hints. Otherwise VAIO Village is a good place to ask, as there are a lot of "modders" over there.
