I'd like upgrading my vaio vgn-21s/w memory.
the specifications report a DDR2 pc2-4200 (533) RAMs, but the installed ones are pc2-5300 (667)!
Someone can help me to find the best (and cheap) memory to buy?!
thanks in advice
Higgree and welcome.
I assume you have a FE21S. Your Vaio can use either PC4200 or PC5300 - the PC5300 is a bit quicker and a bit more expensive. It is backward compatible so it will work with PC4200.
If you already have PC5300 then I would buy more of this quicker sort.
Have a look at CRUCIAL.COM - many of us use Crucial memory ans we know it is compatible and guaranteed to work in your Vaio.
Hi! Thanks for the answer!
no, I've a vaio VGN-N21s/w. my question is: there are certified (expensive) memory (kingston, for example) and generic (cheap) memory (always kingston), should I buy the first type or I can buy the second as well?
