I am unable to update to Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0.5 using the required patch

Dear Sony Forum Users,

Whilst I was updating the software for Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0, an error message kept appearing during the installation of the update and I had to keep clicking on OK to avoid the error message from re-occurring, which seemed very annoying and frustrating for a number of times. I cannot remember what the error message stated as it seemed unclear to remember, but I think it was trying to state that was an invalid directory for Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0. I checked the Event Viewer in Windows XP by clicking on Start, Run, and then typing eventvwr.msc in to the drop-down box and clicking on OK to access the administrator tool. I checked each of the sectors within the Event Viewer including Application, Security, System, Internet Explorer, and Media Center, but there was no sign of an error message for an installation of Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0. I downloaded the executable file for Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0 from the official Adobe UK website using the search engine in the top right hand corner, selected one of the search results in the results list, and followed the instructions on screen to download the executable file. I checked to see if the executable file was not corrupted with viruses, spyware or bugs using the Custom Scan feature of the Norton Internet Security 2005 program, which there were no infections to be found and the executable file was safe to execute for the installation of Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0. I also performed an error check using the CHKDSK command in the Command Prompt tool of Windows XP to check and to see if my C drive was not infested of any known errors, I used the following commands chkdsk / f and Y to confirm the error check. It stated that there was nothing wrong with the NTFS file system and no errors were found meaning that I had to try one more measurement. I have even tried downloading a new copy of the executable file from the Canon UK website again using the search engine in the top right hand corner, selected one of the search results in the results list, and followed the instructions on screen to download the executable file, but again the same problem occurred leaving me no choice but to contact the Adobe Forum to help me with my enquiry. Unfortunately the installation wizard for Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0 would not let me continue as the error message only offered one option and that was to press OK to terminate the installation of Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0. Do you think I will need to obtain the original installation files for Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0 in order to update to Adobe Acrobat Elements 7.0.5? If you can help me with my enquiry I would be most grateful as I will be able to eliminate this problem once and for all.

Your regards,

Timbuctoo
