Clie won't link with Vaio

I have a Clie PEG N710C/G and have recently bought a Vaio desktop model PCV RZ424 - I have the software disk that came with the clie and have loaded it on the desktop - but I can not perform a HotSync.

Has anyone got any ideas?? Thanks
