change incorrect username

Due to a mistake by a Sony Shop

techno all my Files in Windows 8

have my name incorrectly spelt.

How do I resolve please?

Hi Terry and welcome.

You can change your Username easily enough in Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety.  Unfortunately, this just gives a cosmetic change and the underlying folders are not changed.  If a cosmetic change is OK just do this, but if you want to move the existing folders etc. to the new username, follow the instructions here: -

These instructions are for Windows 7 and may need a little interpretation!
