Hi Porter

Try getting the side by side image up on the screen, then try pressing the sync menu>TV options> 3D then at the bottom of the menu is a choice of 3d formats - you  should be able to switch there, to side by side mode? I think thats the right sequence from  memory...

Please feedback if this works as I've posted it a few times before, but no-one has come back and confirmed its correct  or not..

thanks

Hi there Catmambo,

We have just bought a KDL40HX803 and as you rightly point out in order to get Sky 3d up and working we need to firstly press 3d button on the remote and then go to menu>TV options> 3D > 3d formats > side by side mode.

Everytime we switch off the TV, the default "simulated 3d" 3D format comes back on making sky 3d unwatchable. We therefore then have to go through the task of pressing  menu>TV options> 3D > 3d formats > side by side mode again. Moreover, the automatic notification of a 3d channel also doesn't work with Sky 3d in the UK. This therefore means we need to re-select side by side every time we want to watch sky 3d some 5 button clicks on the remote :slight_frown:

We've contacted sky and they say side by side is the only format they send down the line - they don't offer a simulated 3d format which the KDL40HX803 always defaults to. We can't find any way of saving the default to side by side 3d format to avoid this palaver.. Is there anything we can do?

Many thanks,
