Our new Bravia TV won't connect to the internet

Hi,

We are chuffed with the look of our new TV but can't get it to do what it says on the box!

It is a brand new Bravia KDL22ex320    

We have a netgear wireless router through SKY that is not a WPS one - must be a bit older than that.

I have looked through the other posts and can see that this is a fairly common problem but the error we are getting is...

Wireless Device on TV     found

Local Access                  failed (or we can get it to say OK when we connect it to my husbands' android phone)

Internet connection          failed (either with or without the phone connection!)

So - I think we have slightly confused the matter by trying to connect it to the android phone. But - either way - we can't get onto the internet!

Can anyone please help?

We have a macbook and a normal laptop and an iphone and an android phone if it helps to use any of these devices.

I am a bit dim when it comes to these things so please give gentle tech advice!

Hi

I'd first make sure you have the latest firmware on your wireless router, then try turning the security off temporarily on the router and see if you can connect then. If you can connect, then update the firmware on your TV ( details on the Smart TV FAQ on themain page of the forum). Then make sure you are entering your WEP/WPA code correctly as its case sensitive.
