How can I get my Sony Bravia KDL40ex40B to show subtitles when streaming DVD vob-files via DLNA?
The picture and sound are fine but there are no subtitles even though they are available in the files i stream.

Hi,
My TVs are KDL-26EX320 and KDL-37EX720.
I've just tried PS3 Media Server (http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/) and it works just fine streaming trough DLNA.
By default transcodes all files and ads subtitles.

the same problem on me. have ex720 and i don`t have subtitle on movies white router in cablu
Hi,
Be sure you have in the same folder the movie and the subtitle and they have the same name.
Other helpful settings:
-In "Transcoding Setings>MEncoder> Subtitles Codepage" - choose : "cp1250 /* Windows - Eastern Europe */ " - and you will see also the special characters (diacritics).
- in the same tab uncheck "ASS/SSA Subtitles" and you can modify the default font setting (by default the subtitle font is a little small).
Regards.
