Hi,

this is a 2006 model tv, how long have you had this?, its more than likely going to require a service technician to look at it as its possible its losing some of its brightness.

Hi Bravia55HX923,

You are right, I bought it in April 2006 with amount Euro 1507.00 when it's just released, no warranty anymore now.

May I know what is the cost of service technician to check it   and estimate repair cost ?

Thank you for your reply.

Best Regards.

Hi,

im sorry i have no idea of the cost, you are in europe are you not?, find a Sony dealer over there and make discreet enquiries.

Hello SKYBLUE,

I still own the same model as yours bought in Aug. 2006 and still working fine.

The most probability of the problem, is one of the CCFL (2 lamp inside) has gone , or its inverter failed.

Sony replace the whole LCD panel because CCFLs are embedded and no separate part number available , but in case of the inverter is failed,  they provid it separately

On-the-air diagnostic is not accurate, in some other cases a dry soldering point can cause the same problem (gently beat the TV body to see if it gone). You may contact authorized Service center for furture investigation.

Hope this help
