BRAVIA 2 KDL-40EX401 + TIVO box

Hi i dont know if you can help me but i have BRAVIA 2 KDL-40EX401 about 12mths ago and a TIVO box (february this year) when i switch the tv on in the morning its always defaulted to AV1 but when i leave it at night its all ways left on what we are watching weather its HDMI or not its always left on HDMI.

I thought it was programed to stay on whatever channel you left it on but it doesnt

I have to get the tv remote "input select-hdmi1" then if that doesnt do it i have to get the remote again "input select-HDMI2- leave it there for 10secs  then select HDMI1 and its alright then till the next time its turned off and its happened again, its done this from new, please please HELP??

Thats not really a problem but when ive had a stroke i thought it would be easier but its not.

The hdmi lead is in the top one and the scart lead is in the right one

i guess i got your problem now , the Tv not read HDMI 1 connection in the first time , it read it later with a delay of 10 sec or so

OK , i think the problem is with TIVO box setting , go to menu of TIVO and force select the output to HDMI

Hi,

Glad that your first problem solved

Now to solve the issue of screen size i suggest to try the following

1- In TIVO box menu confirm the output is set to "letter box"

2- in TV menu find something called "wide mode" or may be "wide zoom" and select it (there is a buttom on the remote for fast access it

Hi,

go into menu (home) scroll to settings, then set up, scroll down to HDMI set up and set up your devices in there.

Hi,

I am not sure if this is a soluation, but , are your switching off the TV by remote control or you switched OFF using external power switch ( like disconnecting power) ? . Because usually TV remember the last input source the next time it is switched on

I suggest you switch it off first by remote then from the main as a next step , and see if the problem solved

Hi,

also worthy of note, Tivo boxes are designed to be left on 24/7, they do not like being turned off at the mains,

your Virgin installation engineer should have told you this.
