Unable to transfer files with USB cable

You need to use a compatible Sony Ericsson USB cable when connecting your phone to a computer. When transferring files, you need to select the correct USB mode in your phone.

    • Connect the USB cable directly into the computer and phone.
    • On the phone, select a USB mode:
    • Phone mode to use applications included on the memory card.
    • Media transfer to use any third-party application.
    • Print to send photos to a PictBridge™ compatible printer.
    • Mass storage to use your phone as a removable drive.
    • Use the file explorer on the computer to transfer files, depending on the chosen USB mode.

The computer can't find my phone

You need to install the phone drivers to the computer in order for the computer to recognise your phone. The phone USB drivers are also included in the Sony Ericsson PC Companion application.

Go to PC Companion software downloads to download the latest version of Sony Ericsson PC Companion.

Your phone doesn't appear on the computer when connected with a USB cable

Problems with connecting your phone to a computer may be caused by faulty cables or non-responding USB ports.

    1. Reconnect the device and try another USB port or another USB cable.
    2. Clean the connectors with a soft brush, cloth, or cotton buds moistened with any type of unflavoured, colourless alcohol. Make sure that the connectors are totally dry before you connect them.
    3. Restart the computer and try again.

Your phone doesn't appear on the computer when connected via Bluetooth™

Problems with connecting your phone to a computer may be caused by incorrect pairing.

To check that your phone is correctly paired with a computer:

    1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity.
    2. Select Bluetooth > Connected devices. The connected devices are shown in a list.
    3. If not connected, initiate a new pairing.

Your phone appears on the computer but you can’t access the phone

When you connect the phone to a computer with a USB cable, the computer may need to have the proper drivers installed to access the phone. If the computer is missing drivers, the computer will require the drivers to be installed.

In order to connect your phone with a USB cable to a computer, download the latest version of Sony Ericsson PC Companion to get the latest USB phone drivers to your computer. Go to PC Companion software downloads.

In that case, transfer your Pictures to the Camera album: Main menu--File Manager--Pictures--Open--Highlight picture--Options--Manage file--Copy or Move--Camera album--Paste. (You can also copy/move the Camera album pics to the Picture folder).

Alternatively, try Bluetoothing them to the Mac.
