Error Camera may be in use by another application

Hi,

I'm experiencing this error on my M5 at the moment.

"Error

The camera may be in use by another application. Please close the other application and try again."

I've tried rebooting, factory reset,safe mode, and clearing data/cache of camera app. Nothing works!

I just got my M5 and I'm disappointed by this.

The camera worked fine the first week only. I haven't done anything to my phone nor did I drop it to cause such issue.

Can someone help me out?

I already experience it twice. First it will told u that your camera is been use by another application. After that when I restart the hp, I cant use front, rear camera and flash. I send it to service centre and they replace both front and rear camera. Last 2 weeks it happen again and I send it to service center again. They did the same thing. I hope it didnt happen again since my warranty will be end by end of this october

have a same problem with my camera, i from Brazil.I received the phone as trading in another que malfunctioned is that It already defective in camera app. The front camera works by Snapchat. The rear camera does not work

now it happen to my phone. So sad, how can i take it to warranty coz i got my phone from office. Sorry for bad english, anyone have a fix method for repair it ? I already did reboot with safe mode and disable enable camera app, but still not working. Its like a back to 2004 when i used NGage

I ve facing rear camera eror like "Error
The camera may be in use by another application. Please close the other application and try again.". If it can be solved please riles new update for marshmallow. Or higher "Nugat " hehehe. Thanks

I've been through this several times till now even after the marshmallow update with the main camera. The phone is E5663 (dual).

I've noticed that this screen appears with the fast camera button on lock screen and when I unlock the phone everything is back to normal.

Several times happened in normal mode and what I do is just a simple restart. The camera works perfect.

Mine did the same thing too heated up then vodafone put in clean sweep to try cooling it down but no camera still. Thought to put phone in fridge 5 minutes and camera worked until warmed up again. Sounds like the processor overheating is causing the problems. Initially we thought it was a VPN, spotify or even pokemon causing the problems. BUT... with none of that in after a factory reset the camera didn't work.

I have the same problem, ie "the camera may be in use by another application" on my xperia Z5. Sent it off to get repaired, they said it wasn't a software issure, so they ordered a new camera. That didn't work. They wiped the phone and used the original camera and they said it wasn't focusing properly. They managed to fix that and it was working fine. I got home today, installed all my apps again and the camera stopped working. Stopped working when I opened Whatsapp though. So... worked when I used the normal camera app, stopped when I used Whatsapp. Anyone else use whatsapp? could it be that?
