I'm having trouble with my bluetooth audio stuttering when connected. I was informed that updating the firmware would help to solve some of the issues that there are with the bluetooth connection.
I have downloaded the latest firmware (M13/S34) to update my old firmware (M11/S34).
I have followed the instructions
USB formatted to FAT32
USB is 1Gb
Firmware is in root.
When I select update firmware on the stereo and insert the USB pendrive when asked I get the message Update Error.
Can anyone throw some light as to why this is happening as In would love to be able to play music from my phone to the stereo without having to worry about trying to get it to reconnect without it stuttering on playback.
Hi rosorfl,
Welcome to the community.
I'm just going to try to find some answers for you. In the meantime, maybe someone else in the community might have some ideas.
Thanks,

Hi Rosorfl,
That's very strange. I'd say try resetting the unit as explained on page 6 of the manual: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/res/manuals/4597/6aceda85ea24f1c6e976d99c063b9edf/4597143... and try again.

I've reset the stereo but still get the update error. i've tried 2 different thumb drive types just in case it was down to the thumb drives.
I am also not able to update my 4200BT firmware , is there any resolution to this issue, I am currently on M12S34
I have the same error with my MEX-N5200BT.
I cannot update my M10/S34 version to the latest nor to the previous, M11/S34.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks a lot
