MEX-N5200BT displays garbage number from phonebook

When I try and make a call garbage numbers are retrieved/displayed from my Android phone.  Other phone functions work.  I have a Motorola Moto G Play (XT1602) running android 7.1

Any ideas as to why?

Hi there,

Welcome to the community.

We'll take a look at this and update you when we know more.

Maybe some other members will have some ideas in the meantime.

Best wishes,

Hi Gkb993,

I am not sure what you mean by garbage numbers. Do you mean the contacts you've deleted? Have you tested the car system with a different phone?

Cheers,

The number displayed is not a valid phone number for Australia and does not live anywhere in my phone.  Further to this: I get, Error Phonebook, if it is a mobile number and the problem above if it is a landline.

I have investigated and get the same results on another similar head unit.  Either my phone, Moto G4 Play doesn't like the head unit or the head unit doesn't like the phone.

Making a call by voice does work.  I'm not about to go out a buy a new phone but am very disappointed.

Hi, does your N5200BT show the callers name on the display when a contact rings ? I have the same unit but it only shows the phone number of the contacts who is calling.

Can’t say.  The unit is in a second vehicle which doesn’t get much use, haven’t had a phone call in it yet.
