DSC-HX50 - Picture formats.

Hi Everyone, Newcomer to the community - first post.

I am seriously considering the purchase of an HX50 camera but can't find any info on available image formats, ie: 4x3, 6x4 etc. My current cam only supports 4x3 format. Is the HX50 the same?

Looking at the specifications for the DSC-HX50 it would appear that still images are all 4x3 aspect ratio..

Thanks for that Thalamus, that's what I was afraid of. A chance to choose 3:2 would have been good.

I am also considering buying the Hx50 and have a slightly different query about the shooting format not in the aspect ratio but as file format.

I searched a lot of review sites and Sony's but I didn't find such details.

Can you be so kind to inform me if this camera takes pics in JPEG and RAW formats please?

Just bought one of these.  It has settings for 4:3 and 16:9. Hope that helps

Hi can you tell me how to switch between these formats. We have one of these cameras but it seems to be stuck in 16:9 ratio and we would like to switch it back to 4:3
