I found iPlayer was unresponsive. the iPlayer site helpfully suggested to remove and then re-install iPlayer. So I went to the iPlayer icon in the row of icons for the Sony Select channel on the Home Screen of the KD-65AF9, held select, and then selected the Remove option. I then tried to add it back, but found there was no way to do this. I can see iPayer if I click on the Sony Select Channel row icon, and it then shows iPlayer along with other services in the Sony Select channel. But there does not appear to be any way of adding it from this second screen onto the Sony Select Channel row of the Home Screen.
Its not a major issue, but it means that rather than being able to select iPlayer from the Home Screen, I have to click into the Sony Select icon, and then make a selection from the next screen, which is a bit of a pain.
I've tried looking in playstore apps and couldn't find it, and clicking and holding on the icon simply opens the iPlayer without giving any options to add it back.
Any way I can re-add iPlayer so it appears on the main Home Screen?
Hi Mickey,
Can you let me know if the iPlayer app was originally on your TV as a default?
Best wishes,
Sean Mc
Did anyone find a solution to this?
Hi,
In the Apps menu, press on the + (Plus/Add app to favourites) thumbnail, then it can be added to the home page.
I hope that helps!
@Piscie - unfortunately the apps which appear alongside Sony Select (i.e. iPlayer, ITV Player, etc.) don't appear in the Apps menu and therefore once you've removed them from Sony Select (accidentally in my case) the only option I've found available is to do a factory reset of the TV! 😥
It should be possible to add it to the Favourites Bar. So it does not appear in Apps Menu, but does it appear in Settings Apps? If no, you will have to sideload it. If yes, you could follow this demo: https://youtu.be/inLCJyycgzI
Hi,
The iPlayer and ITV player are only available in the Sony select app or YouView. You can try to add the Sony select to the Favourites.

Should be possible to sideload iPlayer and ITV Hub or the "hoshsaiq" app versions. (am using YouView so I have had no reason to do this myself)
Here is a link to the hoshsadiz apps: https://github.com/hoshsadiq/bravia-youview-player-launchers/releases
