Please reply back in this thread with your issue.  Please also list your tv model and all relevent information.

My connectivity is generally OK now; early on it was really intermittent but something has settled and it's acceptable with occasional (sometimes frequent!) restarts and better wired obviously.

My main issue with the tv is the slowness of menus and operation and how it plays, or rather doesn't, with other gadgets such as bluetooth. If Sony got involved and showed any sign of giving a about the user then maybe I'd give them another shot but frankly there's too much choice to bother with another Sony tv.

If I am right you have an XD83 which does not support BT by design (there are some workaround though like sideloading the bt driver to android), so do not expect any support from Sony for your specific model (other tv like my own A1 do work with BT)

Regarding the slowness is a huge discussion but I do not see why your tv should be slower than mine (sharing the same ATV2 architecture). But it may be too slow for your expectation in any case....

Hi
I also have an internet connection issue. Below is my defect report sent to Sony

I have two Bravia TVs situated in different rooms . Each one displays the same problem. Frequently at any time of day, the display shows an indication that the TV is no longer connected to the internet and then a second or two later an indication that it is now connected to the internet. This occurs on both my TVs. KD49XE8004 and KD43XF8096 most of the time, even when only one tv is in use and no other device is being used. Both TVs are connected by wifi. My PC, laptop, tablet and mobile have no such problem even when used in close proximity to the TVs. In the last month I have upgraded my Sky router to the latest model with no effect on the issue.
It is very annoying. This appears to have been reported many times on the web by other users. Can you please solve this problem without me having to go on a engineering course.

I was sent a three page Sony handout detailing many steps to try. In spite of my reluctance to carry out these checks and suggestions - as I feel the TVs are not fit for purpose with regard to internet use and should be resolved in the Sony labs - I fumbled through them to no avail.

Come on Sony, I have been a loyal Bravia customer over many years. Get this sorted!

The issue is now resolved.

There was another router on the home network, which been there for 2 years! with DHCP turned off but used to extend the wireless to a downstairs room. We were using a wired connection and both routers were connected to the same network switches.

The TV was definitely connecting to the main router as we could see it in the logs. It then briefly got an internet then disconnected.

After the software update, something must have changed that is now checking around the network and found the other router as it was delivering the same gateway address.

As we can recreate, happy to run any traces / logs / SDK traces for Sony if required.

This is resolved for us now, thank you for your time.

Regards

Andy

I have KD-49XE8396. It has worked fine for 2 years. Suddenly the wifi is not connecting. I've checked everything. Moved the router closer. Done a soft reset 3x. I think this is since a software update about 4 weeks ago

I have the same issue following a software update. Various Laptops, a Samsung TV and a Freesat box elsewhere in the house manage to stay connected, so it's a Sony issue. I have fumbled my way through the various suggested fixes but none have worked.

If software updates are going to cause problems like this, it'd probably be best if more testing was undertaken. A six month old TV has gone from working perfectly to being VERY annoying.

Sony need to sort this out.

Hi All

i have a Sony KDL 32WD756. Have had it approx 2 years and its in our Kitchen, but /diner which doesn't get great Wifi, but has had good reception up to last few months. Could sometimes get enough Wifi to run Kindle Fire stick.

Now I can't get any channels clearly apart from BBC channels.

Different TV will connect fine in kitchen Aerial socket so not an aerial problem

Sony KDL 32WD756 works fine on all channels in other parts of the house via Wifi so I don't think it is a problem with the TV.

Have tried connecting an Ethernet cable direct and this results in a good internet connection with Kindle Fire stick working fine BUT still can only get BBC channels clearly. Tried retuning channels whilst connected to ethernet.

Any ideas please

Hi gardenjoy,

Have you tried removing the aerial, tuning without it to "flush" or refresh the tuner, then connect the aerial and tune again?

I have a, Bravia 32wd756 32 inch Led tv.

Since purchase 7 months ago I have had continual problems with Internet connection. The TV is connected via cable to my router and about every 2 weeks it says - no Internet connection. I do a factory reset to resolve the issue which is tedious as have to reset log ins every time.

I read about setting to network time, but do not have that option, or can't find it. I only get the option of auto or manual with no further options within auto.

Version of software is:

V8. 219-1000-1.330-01

HELP!!!! This is doing my head in. Apparently the guarantee dies not cover software issues and if an engineer comes out and resets to factory setting, then job done until it drops the Internet again, and I get charged for the job.

Just buy a firestick. It does everything your TV does except ten times
