Upgrade PCG-FX301 not supported ?

I want to upgrade my PCG-FX301 but the support site offer only windows XP, 2000 or 98(SE).
I bought my computer with Windows Millenium.

I want to upgrade the drivers/firmare especially for the optical drive and the network
and the application/utilities such as DVgate.
I bought my laptop with Millenium installed and the choices of your site are XP/2000/98

Go for XP then.
The only problem is getting certain drivers, and sony software is a nono.
