Sony Vaio VGN-TX3XRP multimedia buttons, fingerprint reader, and some more things not working...

Hi Guys,

Made a fresh install on my sony vaio, didnt use the recovery cd, but installed a fresh copy off the windows CD. OS is winXP

Got everything working (atleast I think so) apart from the multimedia buttons (play, pause, eject) and the AV button. Also the fingerprint reader is not working and it seems that I cannot change brightness either pressing FN+F5.

Downloaded the utils packadge and installer vaio control center and AV Button utility (but it still seems not to be working) should open windows media but it doesent...

Any ideas how I could get these things working? :smileygrin:

Hi vaioquestions and welcome to Club Vaio.

What exactly have you installed in addition to XP?

Have you installed ALL the Original Utilities Installers for your TX3?
Have you installed ALL the Original Drivers for your TX3?
Are there any unrecognised devices without drivers installed in Device Manager? Is the fingerprint reader installed?

To get the function keys to work you need to install the following Utilities IN ORDER: -

1. Sony Utils DLL
2. Sony Shared Library
3. Vaio Event Service

You may have to do this more than once.

For the fingerprint reader, have you downloaded Protector Suite QL?
