Webcam trouble

I recently had to use the recovery dics on my laptop due to spyware, and now i'm having problems using my webcam. For instance, when trying to use it on MSN it says that the camera is not in use or not plugged in.

Do I have to download some kind of software for it? If any more details are required like laptop model number etc, please ask me what's needed and i'll supply more info'.

could you tell use the exact error message please.?

What model Vaio do you have.?

Go to Device manager and expand Imaging devices, what do you have listed.?

Are there any warning icons or error codes.?
