I want to upgrade the processor in my FX201 to the fastest that I can. Can anyone tell if they have done a similar thing and what works, or does it make sense to swap the whole motherboard out, so that a higher bus speed can be used and alternate subtype of AMD processor can be used to achieve an even high speed upgrade? Maybe even better video card to boot.
Laptops normally have the processor soldered to the motherboard, so you would have to replace the lot, and getting one that will fit wont be easy, as kee-lo said, get a new laptop, what you want to do is not really possible
