KDL-47W805A TV message of system memory limit.

Sony KDL-47W805A :I have a Sony kdl-47w805a which shows the following message when I try to open iPlayer

"tv internet download failed because content size exceed system memory limit."

Can I clear or increase the memory or can I not get iPlayer anymore ?

What does it actually mean ?

My tv is only 3 years old.

Thanks

Still getting the above message when trying to access BBC iplayer programmes. Please give a solution to problem as my down load speed is in excess of 51 Mbps

This is a very old problem. Repeated access to i-player adds data to the
TV memory which eventually becomes full and needs to be cleared out - as
far as I know the only way to do this is to revert to factory settings.
That fix only lasts for a short while and then you'll get the problem all
over again. Sony have never admitted it but the Bravia - and for all I
know all their TVs - have this problem and they seem to have no intention
of doing anything to solve it; prefering to blame it on the BBC who of
course hgave nothing to do with it.

Alternatively, buy an Amazon firestick and access i-player that way. Much
easier and you get netflix and lots of other time bending goodies.

I gave up on my Bravia being a smart TV a while ago.

I connected a NOWTV box & the TV is now a dumb TV.

The lack of support for apps has put me off buying Sony again.

Inclined to agree with you..My last Sony TV after being a support for many years, purchasing items higher than others brands as Sony represented quality with good back service.....Not the case now😞

Still getting the message? After what?

Basically your Bravia and mine and many others' is not 'smart'. I use an Amazon 'firestick' to surf the net and not the TV memory. I did try once out of interest and it froze on me just as before. Sorry but either use an alternative method of accessing the internet or get a TV by another more reliable maker.
