I just got an update from German Sony support...
they said that as long as I have an invoice/proof of purchase for products brought from Sony Germany...I will get a 24 months warranty.
the date visible in Support app wont be an issue as long as I am able to produce my invoice ...
The support team from India were unable to help as "the product was purchased from outside India"...their words...
So I guess that solves my problem...

The warranty will differ between regions so your best option would be to contact your Local support team to discuss this, as this is a global forum.

I got this phone from Germany, while I was there for a few days and brought it there as I learnt that it would not be available in India.
Now I'm back to home. And have observed this issue after the upgrade.
I will contact them before this weekend, But I'm not sure if they would be of any help as the device is'nt launched here in India...
you should contact your retailer, ask if the warranty starts from the day of purchase or some other dates.
In general, the warranty is local only so it may only be valid in Germany, though this may differ between regions. Check with the support team in India and see what their stance is on international handsets.

Can I flash the German Nougat update to resolve this issue.
