Screen stays on after fully charged

Hey Guys

I am having a wierd and annoying issue with my new Xperia X

When I put the phone on to charge overnight a couple times when i got up during the night I have noticed that the screen is on constantly on.

A few times when I wake up in the morning and I check my phone the screen was on too.

I have checked that Daydream is off and that Developer options > Screen awake is disabled too. The phone is only a few days old.

Any ideas?

Thanks

@Bobo13 Before you send it back, one thing. Try another cable or adapter, sometimes incomplete charging contact will do this.

Okay tried another adapter same problem.

Wierd thing is, I got my wife the same phone too. And her one is doing exactly the same thing.

I got up very early morning today and saw the light on so i recorded a short video.

@Bobo13

Is this with the charger and cable that came with the phone?

When it's currently doing this, would it be possible for you to take a log from the phone and send it to me?
To do this:
Settings > About phone > Build number, tap 7 times on the build number
Go back to Settings and select Developer options and turn on "USB debugging". Then tap "Logger buffer sizes" and set this to "4 M".
Settings > Developer options, select "Take bug report". When the report is ready (may take a minute or so) you get a notification that you can tap and share to Google Drive. Please send me a link to this file in a private message.

Hi @Rickard

I am using the original charger and cable that came with the phone.

I will take a report when it does this again.

Thanks

Ok just an update.

I was using a power lead exention where the charger was plugged into.

Last couple night i have been plugging directly into wall socket and no issues.

Strange.

Glad to hear that it works now Slightly_smiling_Face

Please let me know if it should happen again, and if possible, take a log.

But if it doesn't happen again while using the wall socket, i would recommend that you don't use that extension cable any more (for any device). Sounds like a bad connection it in.

My Sony experia x constantly reboots whilst charging

i am getting this issue, i've noticed it more as when it starts charging the charger noise goes on waking me up in the night.

Here's a bit more detail:

the battery life will be around 30-50% before i goto bed, i plug the charger into a plug extension as i have a lamp in the same socket. sometime through the night when it's fully charged it possibly reboots. after this the screen comes on constantly no matter how many times i turn it off and the charging noise keeps going as if i'm unpluging it from the device and plugging it back in the device. i've had a sony xperia z2 and never had these issues. My understanding is all smartphones when charging should have a cut off when fully charged to stop the battery overheating from too much power being put into it. i have felt the phone a few times and it seems to be hot to the touch could this be causing the issue, which would mean a full recall of the xperia x phone to give new replacement phones with this issue fixed???

My problem was a dodgy power extention.

I would reccomend testing on another direct wall socket with nothing else.

My phone has woken me up 4 nights in a row now with a shrill beeping noise after charging. Thought it was the charging notification tone but after checking and switching it back on the noise is totally different. Last night I realised that it charges to 100% and then restarts before it starts making this noise. Feel like I'm losing the plot as I don't know what's causing it. Has since reset itself during the day once that I know of. Phone is only 1 week old and software updates are up to date.
Any help welcome.
