Does anyone have a definitive list of supported video formats and resolutions which will play using the USB port on the Sony Bravia KDL-37EX401 TV?  Neither the onscreen or printed manual offers any help other than just saying it'll play .mpg, .mp4 and .avi files.

I have a considerable number of standard resolution and HD movies in all those formats on my PC, all of which play correctly at full screen on a 21" monitor, yet when I try to play then on the TV, most won't play and I get messages saying "incorrect format" or "video resolution not supported" or similar.  Those few which do play are tiny, occupying no more than something like 10cm x 7cm in the middle of the screen.

One of the reasons I bought this particular TV was because of the supposed ability to play videos via the USB port, emphasised by the dealer I bought it from, but I'm now rather wishing I hadn't
