windows 8 instalation

I have bought a Vaio VPCF23Z1E/B1 just 3 months ago. Sony does not provide a CD for upgrading to Windows 8. In the support there are drivers for windows 8, but I do not find any guide how to do the update of the operating system, i.e, step-by-step actions to preform a succesfull update.

Can somebody help me on that?

Hi aruano and welcome.

There is no guide available.  We have asked for some guidance from Sony - so I would wait until we are sure.

The only thing we know is that you must make an Upgrade (Migration) installation and choose to “Keep Windows settings, personal files, and apps.” 

Many of the drivers supplied by Sony are only updates and require the original W7 versions to be still installed so a 'clean install' is unlikely to work successfully.

You probably have to run the Unified Uninstaller Tool to remove incompatible programs, but we need some guidance as to what this actually does.

I would wait until we know more.
