Why do we have to pay double prices for Vaio compared to the "poorer" US citizens?

Vaio C Series black with i5-2410 2.30MHz, ATI Mobiliti Radeon 6630 1GB, 500 GB 7200 rpm HDD, 14" Led backlit 1600 x 900 resolution display costs ONLY 1030$ ordered through the US Sony site. Now you tell me why do we have to pay it double???

It is not just the Vaio you mention, we are being ripped off by all the electronics manufacturers.  It is partly our fault for being prepared to pay the prices asked!!!
