Nobody will be able to order an upgrade who did not have a delivery date agreed before the end of March.
Anyone who now wants to change from XP to Vista will have to purchase a retail version of Vista and use the Drivers and Utilities from Sony Downloads. This will be like it used to be for Vaio users upgrading from XP Home to XP Pro.
Your best bet is to say to ModusLink that you tried to order it but their website prevented you from paying the fee!!

I have a feeling quite a few people are going to get caught out by this especially as the ModusLink site was not very efficient.

Vista isn't as expensive to buy as you might think. PM if you want more info. 
thanks for all your help.............I just called modus link apparently for thoes who still want to upgrade to vista with a sony device can till 30th of April.....Also apparently even though I recieved an error message etc etc when doing my order in january to feburary it went through on februrary even when i got an error message the duude said that my shipment has arrived and i will recieve it in a few weeks even though i didnt get a confirmation email ......... anyone know how i can track it :smileygrin: really excited about it

No worries i found out how i can check my order status but if my order is received how come they havent put a shipping date or anything 
if its been done since feburary shouldn't have i recieved it by now
