volume buttons on VGN AR21S

I bought a Sony Vaio VGN-AR21S 2 months ago and the volume buttons never worked properly. When I push these buttons it only shows the volume level, but doesn't increase or decrease it.
This is, I gess, the same problem as Caramela (anoher user today ont this site) but do I have to follow the same path to solve the problem as suggest by Rich (see question Caramela)

Yes same solution hopefully, but make sure that you download the correct utilities for your operating system – i.e. XP or Vista…

Hi ovadm,

Welcome to Club Vaio.

Download the pre installed Utilities for your AR21S from Vaio-Link, once downloaded extract and then install the following, in order.

1 Sony Utilities
2 Sony Shared Library
3 Vaio Event Service

Once completed then re-boot your vaio.

You may have to do this more than once..:smileywink:
