Vista and Web n Walk Data Card

I have just received my copy of vista- but dont think i can upgrade yet due to the fact my tmobile web n walk card doesnt seem to be compatible with it.

Does anyone use the tmobile card - and has anybody got it working with vista yet?

Im using vista and own the t-Mobile express data card... unfortunately there are no drivers for this card yet.. T-mobile programmers are working on new drivers for vista and hopefully they will be available soon.. Temp fix is to remove your Sim from your card and put it into a mobile and connect the mobile to the laptop via bluetooth.. its a lot slower but at least you have Internet access.

This is becoming a common problem, MS not helping programmers out enough and they're left frustrated and a lot of work to do once Vista went gold.

Hopefully they'll roll one out soon.

I have tried installing T-Mobile Communication Centre version 2.7 which came with my Express data card. However it is not compatible with Vista so I tried the versions on the T-Mobile support site http://lastmile.t-mobile.co.uk/datacardhelp/user/page.phtml?page_id=98
I have not had full success with this yet on my Vaio C2Z/B. The version 2.10 works until you try and connect and then it throws an error to do with Wilog and the application closes.

I'm interested to know if there is a fix for that particular error as I think it will work on Vista with that bug fix.

Thanks

Ryan

I just think it depends on the company and the quality of the programmers.
Example: I'm using the Vodafone Dashboard Software together with the Novatel Wireless Merlin UX870 UMTS/HSDPA Express Card (PCMCIA adapter used for G11) and it FULLY supports Vista without any problems. Same applies to the Sierra Wireless UMTS/HSDPA USB modem (by Zadacom, made using SW chipsets), I'm using the generic driver from their website and it works great with only one problem: the UX90S USB port doesn't deliver enough stable power when running on batteries (sometimes even with A/C plugged in), so the connection sometimes drops.

Another "funny" thing: we have various phones here in my company, among them two T-Mobile phones, the MDA Mail and the new Ameo. Both show serious problems getting connected for the first time to Vista (I installed the Windows Device Center, I adapted the firewall, etc. etc. etc.) but it was a pain in the a.. to make it work. Sometimes, the synchronization doesn't work at all and I have to try again and again. Then...there is Nokia. Their latest PC Suite actually doesn't even officially support Vista but it installs without any problems and the phone drivers (N80 and N93i) work too without any problems.

Like I said..."funny" stuff.

The only choice we have here is to wait, i spoke to one of there programmers from t-mobile on the 22/3/07 and he told me that he estimates drivers for express and pcmcia to be ready by mid to end of April.. what a drag..!

T-Mobile have released a Vista compatible version for what it calls the compact card. visit http://lastmile.t-mobile.co.uk/datacardhelp/user/page.phtml?page_id=98 to download it.

I've not had time to try it with my HSDPA card but will soon and post back my success (finally) or not!!
