Vinyl to CD - FS215Z

Looking for help, please.

I'd like to transfer some LPs to CD. I have connected my turntable phonos to composite audio on docking station but no output. No indication of volume level in Sonicstage studio either.

Am I trying the impossible? Any suggestions on how to connect the turntable to the laptop, please.

New laptop, minimal knowledge:smileyblush:

I don't know about your model but my K-series has a 3.5mm stereo microphone socket (red) and I just plug the stereo speaker output into there.

I also use RipVinyl .
HTH.

Thanks GBS.

I tried connecting to the Mic socket Via a phono to 3.5mm adapter. Still no joy - probably because it's the direct o/p from pickup and not amplified.

I'm off now to look at RipVinyl.

Perhaps the PU needs to be amplified before connecting - any other suggestions, please?

If you go into VAIO Zone and play the vinyl can you hear it then?

Kee-Lo, I'm sorry, I don't know how to do that:smileyblush:
(I've looked in Vaio Zone and can't find info on "other" inputs.

Any tips, please?

Hmm maybe it's not got VAIO Zone

Where are you connecting? Have you tried selecting a different source from the Windows Mixer? Click the volume control in the system tray and go into the menu and select recording mixer.

Sorry for my bad manners in not replying sooner but have had network and other dificulties so this is on "back-burner" meantime. I'm sure the problem was no amplification and when I put it through amp all will be OK.

BTW Kee-lo it has Vaio Zone.

Thanks again and I'll be back.
