hi everyone! anyone can help out?
vaio zone won’t play my dvds no more, and it did before. now i have to use windvd ugly interface to do so. all i remember doing was uninstalling click to dvd and dvgate plus. now, when i load a dvd and try to play it with vaio zone it just won’t: vaio zone opens but that’s it. the dvd does play if i open the it with intervideo windvd 5 for windows. anything i can do to go back to vaio zone?
i already did this: updated vaio zone from the vaio-link site. i also tried to get windvd to reinstall it, but @ intervideo’s site there’s no windvd “for vaio”. can i just dld windvd 8 (which is the last one)? i also read somewhere that windvd 4 also works with vaio zone.
thanks.
j.
ps: i have a vgn-fs285b on xp and vaio zone 1.4 (updated from the website)
Hi realchancho and welcome to the forum,
Vaio Zone has the following dependences:
1.PXEngine
2. VAIO® Entertainment Platform
3. OpenMG Setup
4. SonicStage Shared Library
5. SonicStage®
6. MEPG Decoder
7. WinDVD 7
8. Click 2 DVD 8
9. MPEG Decoder 9
10. VAIO Media
If any of the above is missing from your system then Vaio Zone will have limited functionality. You will need to re-install Click 2 DVD which you will hopefully find on your recovery disks and/or recovery partition. This should correct the problem but if not you may need to re-install Vaio Zone.
To re-install an individual application Click Start > All Programs > Vaio Recovery Utility and on the main menu click Options. Some of the bundled software is unavailable with this utility and requires a full recovery to re-install.
