Vaio VGN-AR51J memory upgrade

Would like to upgrade memory from 2 GB to 4GB. My favorites are Kingston and Corsair. I have not found any 4 GB kit (i.e. two 2 GB paired sticks as one usually finds for desktops) on the market, but only single 2 GB units (obviously I would need two of them).
Kingston advise M25664F50 , Corsair does not (yet) advise any memory for VGN-AR51J.
However, there are on the market many offers of DDR2 667 SO DIMM marked Corsair.
Would it be safe to buy two (unpaired) memory sticks(either from Kingston or from Corsair) and install them? As the notebook is brand new, I would like to play as safe as possible.
Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot for info.I noticed that only 3-3.5 GB could be used out of a 4 GB twin system if I continue using my installed 32 Windows Vista.
I could install a 64 bit version but I understand that there are no drivers for the graphic card installed on my Vaio. Am I correct? If not, would an installation of 64 bit system create any problem with the Sony 2 year guarantee?
Thanks again for answer

I would avoid Corsair memory. There have been several instances where the system only recognises half the installed Corsair memory. I would stick to Crucial which is guaranteed compatible and is personally recommended by many Club Vaio members.

I would also avoid 64-bit Vista. Sony does not support this and drivers and utilities are not available for everything. Fine if this is a second PC and a development project but no good if you want a reliable system. Perhaps in a few years' time.

Thanks for hints. As a matter of fact, Vaio is my second (possibly third, counting my wife´s one)computer but I do need a 32 OS for certain programs and, though I have it installed on my main desktop in addition to a 64 OS , I prefer to keep constantly a 32 OS PC connected to the network and ready for programs which do not run on a 64..
I am presently abroad and,as I am using the Vaio only ,I found that editing movies with it is a very tiresome and tedious job (I have just switched to AVCHD) and therefore I would have liked a faster system, that I could obtain by adding more memory ( or so I hoped). As I am going back home to-morrow, I will , for the moment, leave matters as they are, awaiting , as you suggest, some more future software developments.
So long.
