vaio pocket and new firmware

Hi every body,
I've just upgraded my vaio pocket firmware folowing each steps but now the new sonicstage do not reconize my vaio pocket nether do the vaio music transfer. Sonicstage ask me to format the disk! Is it a joke or what? I'h spent hours to re-encode songs... please is there some one who pass this step?

i just did everything as u said, but i still get this error : "An error occurred while transfer.Could not retrieve the device information. " and i can't transfere any os my mp3's. Dose somone know about this? i need help

Hi Georgioskonstantinos, it could be that your player needs a reset, if its a Vaio Pocket there is a little hole on the bottom of the player, this is the reset button. Use a paper clip or similar to reset the player.

It could also be a problem with the install but try the reset first.

i just did reset as u said, i already have formated the disk and put the las update on int.. but the error still remains..
what can you suggest?

ia llso have installed all actual programms in my pc

Hi, your only other option is to go through a reinstall of SS & the firmware updates again, one thing to make sure is that SS can get online, check its in the allowed list of your firewall.

i just reinstalled everything [on my pc kai VP] and i still get this error. I can't transfer any kind of songs on me vaio.. 😕
can you suggest anything?

my problem is ive not used my pocket in a while.
i have sonic stage 4.0 installed on my sony PC.
when i link the PC to the pocket, this error comes up:

The connected ATRAC Audio Device cannot be used with the currently installed sonicstage.
To use with the currently installed sonicstage,you must delete all tracks in the ATRAC Audio device or initialize the hard disc of the ATRAC Audio device.


how would i, initialize the hard disc of the ATRAC Audio device?
as i do not want to loose my existing tracks.
or could you tell me how to save/move them.

im sure i was on sonicstage 2 before.
could you please help.

The update from 2.x to 3.x does require a wipe of the VP hard drive & you will loose all tracks on the player if you want it to work. The tracks on your PC are safe & you will be able to retransfer all your music back to the player once it's been 'initialised'. This is done in the menu of the device somewhere in the settings, im not exactly sure where but its in the manual.

Hi I just did a firmware update from 2x to 3x. I lost my players album listing had Japanese characters on the listings, I did a restore music info and these came back. I lost connection using I think it was ver 2 of SS so I reformatted my Player still nothing then I decided look at the sony site for a new vers of SS I downloaded SonicStage : 4.3.01.14050 and installed it and I have managed to get my player connection back on my Vaio, I havn't tried out my network player yet to see if that works still but I dont use that much anyway.
