vaio pocket and new firmware

Hi every body,
I've just upgraded my vaio pocket firmware folowing each steps but now the new sonicstage do not reconize my vaio pocket nether do the vaio music transfer. Sonicstage ask me to format the disk! Is it a joke or what? I'h spent hours to re-encode songs... please is there some one who pass this step?

Hi brunobulles, welcome to CV.

Unfortunately you will need to format your Vaio Pocket player, the new software handles files slightly differently so you will need to re-transfer your music across once your VP is empty after the format.

On the upside you should notice a much faster transfer rate so it shoudnt take long to get your music back on the player.

Thank you Chris, so I do format the disk and as you said whith this new sonicstage the refil is very fast .
Nevertheless, it's quit a strange thing to make an update that can't support files from previous version.

Hi there. No problem Im glad everything is working.

Not all updates require a format but the upgrade to 3.x was a very big improvement in so many areas I think it was worth it, maybe Sony just wanted to show us how much quicker it was lol.

You will also notice you have different settings available when you rip CD's. Lossless recording is now available & the sound quality is brilliant! When you rip a CD, SS makes a lossless recording to your HD and also an optimised file for transferring to your player in whatever bitrate you choose. this allows for even faster transfer to the player. :smileygrin:

hi chris! thanks for the link. i've made the upgrade and the vaio doesn't work..... sonicstage can't do the transfer... i think i'm going to make a nervous breakdown
