to all vaio A series owners !!! x-black = defective technology ?

x-black technology .... flickering technology ?

My vaio a115b was flickering from the first day ....for vaio link support my display was ok , " it's the new technology" they said to me...
Please help me to know the true , if you want to verifiy that your vaio display (x-black) was flickering , please try this :

1) brightness in auto or lowest mode or 10-20% , not on highest
2) open adobe reader and expand the window in full screen
3) look at tge gray background , can you see flickering noises ?

I have a TR5MP withan X Black screen. Obviously it is adifferent model of laptop but I have nothing but praise for the screen.

I do not doubt that you have a problem of some sort but if is to do with the actual screen it has now been sorted.

Perhaps it is to do with the connections on your particular model rather than the actua X Black technology.

Good luck in getting it sorted, if it is asyou say surely a repair could not be disputed by Sony under warranty.

Oh god I'm not even going to bother ranting. My own screen flickers, as has many other peoples and it's usually the sign of a screen that won't last all that long. Even if it lasts it's certainly not the sign of a screen in perfect working order. It doesn't really matter what causes it, it shouldn't be doing it.
As soon as I'm finished working on what I'm doing and I have my computer all backed up I'll be on the phone to get it sent off for repair, since I have another 10 months of warranty left (It has flickered since I bought it).
See if you can speak to someone at Sony more helpful about it.

Done the above in stated conditions no 'noise' on my A115b, only praise for mine

I don't have any problems with my A115B (apart from the reflective issues, but that's not a fault).

On my A197VP I diden't notice nothing, is the flicker very stong, or only a little small flicker???
