T1XP memory issue

Hi guys. I'm hoping you might be able to help with a memory issue on my T1XP. I have inserted a Transcend 512MB DDR333 into the spare slot and the computer keeps memory dumping and restarting. Without the module installed it works fine if slow (with Vista eeek).

2 questions for you - is this common and is it definitely the memory module thats at fault OR could it be a setting in the bios OR even a motherboard fault?

I obviously do not want to buy a replacement module to find the same thing happens.

Not really. I don't think it is a common problem so the most likely cause is faulty or incompatible memory modules.

It could be the memory slot or the motherboard but it will cost you a lot more than the price of a memory module to find out.

I would try a new memory module and make sure it fits the specifications exactly: -

512MB PC2700 NON-ECC UNBUFFERED 172PIN DDR333 MICRODIMM

Always buy memory from someone who will guarantee it is compatible.
