strange alarmsound coming from inside the computer...

when my HDD is working "heavy" it gives an alarmsound that comes from inside the computer, not the speakers. that's my I guess it has something to do with the HDD, but I'm not sure. my vaio is 2years old, working alright though this sound. I'm afraid something more serious might happen soon. anyone has any ideas of what this can be?

Might be that your machine is overheating.

Check that there isn't a build up of dust of the fans and download a cpu temperature monitor to keep an eye on the temps.

Are the bleeps in any sort of order? Such as a series of short beeps or a series of short and long bleeps, that sort of thing?
