I want to restore the above noted laptop back to out of box condition. I have been on the support Sony site but it states procedure not available. I did not have a disk in the box when i purchased and do not know what to do. Can anyone help me please? Purchased Feb 2007.
Thanks
Steve
To restore your laptop back to box condition,
1.Press start button
2.Click on all programs
3.Scroll down to Vaio recovery tool
4.Click on Vaio recovery utility
5.Select your requirements from there.
Thanks but when I do that and click on restore options it states procedure not available?
Any other advice?
Steve
Suggest if you purchased from Sony you contact them requesting restore discs, they supplied me with these for the previous laptop I had.

Hi Steve,
If you have formatted over the Recovery Partition then you will need to contact Sony Support and purchase a relacement set of Recovery Discs - cost about £30.
However, if the Recovery Partition is still there and only drive C:\ has been formatted, you can start the recovery to factory defaults like this: -
1. Connect to Mains electricity.
2. Turn on your Vaio.
3. At the very first Vaio Logo screen, tap F10 repeatedly.
4. This should start the recovery.
Many thanks. All sorted. It is like I have just purchased it again. Brilliant. Steve.
I would recommend that you make recovery disks, just in case.....
