Sony PS3 Media Centre with Vaio

I just read that the PS3's new firmware (1.80) will support media streaming from a Vista PC like the XBox does from MCE.

I just want to know, is there any way of getting the PS3 to stream MCE 2005 because I really don't want to upgrade to Vista. I can already guess the answer but it's really annoying me!

I'm desperatly hoping a newer version will allow steaming from MCE 2005.

yessssss, it works with xp.

well i use vaio media server anad the ps3 picks it up and i can view media that is on my vaio on my ps3. the onmly thing is that it dos not rewind or fast forward,, but this is probobly the file .

That's good to hear. Does it work with the Media Centre (without vaio media server)? I'm guessing it needs windows media player 11 though
