Replace DVD Reader on VGC-RC102

How can i open my VGC-RC102 to replace the Dvd Reader by a new recorder? I can only open the panel on one side but it's not enough to reach the Dvd player.

Thanks

I've not seen inside one of these personally, but if it's anything like my Vaio, you will need to dismantle parts of the case to get at it. I had to remove the front cover of the Vaio which allowed me to slide out the caddy which held the drives in place, which then allowed me to remove the screws from the drive slot and remove the drive.

If you look at the case, you'll probably see that it's made up of parts, which are clipped or screwed together, so it's worth trying to figure out how the part that holds the drives is held together.

Also, in case that isn't the case, if you can get the other side panel off, you may be able to get at the screws holding in the drive and it MAY (it didn't on my RX desktop) slide out the front, or back if you have enough space.

Good luck
