Is this possible?
I have a sony vaio VGN-AR31M, running windows vista, I see you can record TV in Windows media centre while watching tv, and then burn to DVD-RW or CD-R, but is there anyway of recording anything straight to your hard drive?

The option is in Media centre (pre-installed on your laptop). Open it up and just hit record on the bottom bar, should be easy.

All TV is recorded to the hard drive. You can change the location of the recorded .dmr-ms files. See here: -
