Hi
Last night my girlfriend got a new battery from batteries-mall.co.uk, it came with a CD with a program called biospatch.exe and instuctions which told her to run it. She followed the instructions and ran the program and now her laptop will not boot. The screen stays black and nothing happens, I can't get it to boot off a CD or USB. Any advice?

Hi,
Sadly, if the BIOS has been corrupted by this program, you will have to contact Vaio Support for advice.
They may need re-flash the BIOS at a repair centre.
The telephone number is 0905 0310006. This is a premium rate phone line @35p per minute.
Often these cheaper batteries are not compatible and are a false economy.
Hopefully you can return it for a refund but I doubt they will pay for any repair.
