Power adaptor started a soft beeping and no longer provides power

I know this post is a bit old now but I had the exact same problem with my power adaptor (after only 3 months!). It made a funny beeping noise and there was no green light meaning I couldnt charge my beloved laptop I phoned Sony and explained the problem and they immediately sent me out a new (and improved) power adaptor as I was under warranty.

I would give them a call and find out what they can do for you.
