PCG-GRT715M Fan problems

Hey there,

Can anyone help me with a problem i am having with the very enthusiastic fan i have on my laptop.

From the moment ANY program runs on the laptop the fan spins up and then proceeds to drown out any other noise within my room. If i shutdown almost every program eventually the fan slows, however moving the mouse causes it to spin up again.

Is there any way to alter the fan settings?

Cheers

Hi,

Have you tried setting your fans to quiet in power settings in control panel?

This will mean less performance as the CPU will use less cycles.

I dont see any option to set it to quiet either in the power panel or the power options under control panel.

Clean out the fan with a vacuum cleaner or air duster.

Will give that a go  cant see how its gonna stop the thing being on fully whenever the pc is doing anything more complicated then moving the mouse cursor

If the fan is clogged with dirt then the processor will heat up rapidly, even under the slightest load. This will activate the thermal control system and the fan will increase in speed.

It's best to clean them often.
