Does anyone suffer with the Vista sleep mode. My notebook screen does not switch back on when the notebook resumes from sleep, the notebook is sent to sleep automatically by Vista (I've now switched this feature off until I find a fix) when the power button or return key is pressed the notebook powers back up to a running state but the screen remains off.
Is there a fix for this? My motherboard has been replaced by Sony to stop the high pitched noise on battery power which I thought would solve this too!
Many thanks
Ryan
Hi Ryan,
What version driver for the nVidia GeForce Go 7400 are you using?
Hi it is version 7.15.10.9732 Nvidea GeForce Go7400
Thanks in anticipation!!
I would try Version : 7.15.10.9746 which is available for your Vaio here: -

There is no BIOS upgrade for your model so I assume it must be a Graphics Driver problem.
Great thanks I will try and report back!
I tried to install the later version but Vista says the version installed is the best version and stops installing. I tried forcing it to install by going to device manager and selecting the option "have disk" it appeared to have installed, requested to reboot the notebook but once rebooted I re-checked the driver version and it has not been updated... Bit of a mystery!
Yes I have seen this problem a few times over the last months. I think on one occasion after I tapped the standby button it came back into life. You have to be careful though because if you tap it too much then the notebook shuts-down!
A fix would obvioulsy be much welcome.
