Notebook Beeping

My VAIO Notebook PCG-FR415B has benn working fine until today. I turn it on and it makes a continuos beeping and does not boot up.
Any ideas?

Can you start the in Safe-Mode? (click F2 if you see the VAIO-Logo)
Or can you start with last restore point? (click F8 if you see the VAIO-Logo)

Open the RAM compartment and resit the memory modules

No, Vaio Logo appears for a few seconds then goes. Pushed F2 and F8 but no response.

Located the Ram modules, how do they come out?
When the notebook is turned off, should the cahrge light be on when it is plugged in to the mains? Is this just a flat battery warning because the charger has packed up?

Rather than just pressing F8 once try pressing and releasing the key repeatedly as soon as you switch on your notebook.

For instructions on how to remove and replace the memory modules have a look at your
on-line manual.

With regard to the battery light, this will continue to flash (indicating that it is charging) when powered down but attached to AC power, if the battery in not fully charged.

Well the plot thickens. This Vaio has been having a funny 5 minutes or more like 12 hrs.
Turned on, started making the beeping noise, pressed contol alt and it booted up. It still behaved oddly. Persevered for a few minutes and now it is working fine.
Could it be condensation, read something about that in the manual?

As long as it has been in a constant temperature/humidity for 24 hours, I doubt that is the problem.

The Vaio was put away for a week, could explain things, all is well now
