Non- functional Audio

i have a sony vaio VGN-FS215Z which i have been using for a period of two years.
my sony vaio crashed and the recovery disc has been misplaced or lost.
i configured it's software online.
i later realised that the Audio is not working and i tried all i could to get it working but no solution.

I lost my audio too, have a look at my thread under 'VGN-AR21S Lost Audio Device', 28 May. Hopefully the suggestions will help you as well.
